Ile Ste Helene - Autumn Walk 🍂

The Story

📍 170 rue Sainte-Hélène, Montréal — meet at the Jean-Drapeau metro exit (Yellow Line; the walk starts and ends right at the station) 📅 Saturday, October 24, 2026 Autumn leaves on the island! 🍂 I did a practice walk of this trail and it's amazing — the fall colours, the river all around. I walked up the Tour de Lévis, and the view from up there was spectacular! I hope there are still leaves left for us to see! 🍁 Come as you are — good talking and good socializing along the way, at an easy, friendly pace. 💛 **❗ A heads-up: this is more of a hike than a walk.** The total is a bit over 5 km, with a few sloping hills, so we'll be getting a good workout! lol! Please wear appropriate shoes! 👟 **Things we will visit:** * The Biosphère * The Tour de Lévis * The historic Fort de l'île Sainte-Hélène * Espace 67 * Calder's Trois disques sculpture * The waterfront paths all around the island * Blockhaus **Plan:** * Meet at 2:00 PM at the Jean-Drapeau metro station * Hike the full loop, a bit over 5 km — about 2.5 hours with photo stops * After the hike, we'll go out to eat together — join us if you'd like! 🍽️ 🎟️ Free — no tickets needed, just show up and walk. **🗺️ The route:** I'll include it in the photo below. ❗ **Weather plan:** * If Saturday's weather is rain, the hike moves to Sunday — same time, same meeting point * Or we do the underground downtown walk on Saturday instead, and the hike moves to the following weekend * I'll confirm here the day before!
