This is a plain-English summary of the contract between you and Flock. We rewrote industry-standard legalese into language any human can read in five minutes. The legal force is the same.
1. Who we are
Flock is an events platform operated by Kadeem Yearwood (NYC). We connect attendees, hosts, vendors, sponsors, and venues through a 4-sided marketplace. Contact: hello@flock.city.
2. What you agree to
- You're 13+ (or 16+ in some EU countries). Under-18 users need parental consent for ticketed events.
- The information you provide is true and current. You won't impersonate someone else.
- You won't use Flock for illegal events, hate-targeting, fraud, or to harm other users.
- You'll follow our Acceptable Use Policy for any content you post (event listings, reviews, chat, photos).
- You'll respect host cancellation policies and our Refund Policy.
3. What we provide
- An events feed, search, and recommendation engine across > 50 cities.
- Ticketing, RSVP, and group-payment infrastructure (Stripe-backed).
- Host tooling: listing creator, analytics dashboard, refund tools, vendor RFQ chat.
- A 24h-window full-refund policy on tickets we process. See /refunds.
- Reasonable security: encrypted connections, hashed passwords, signed webhooks, audit logs. See /security.
4. What we charge
For attendees: tickets cost what the host sets, plus our platform fee of 3% + $0.30 per ticket (capped at $3.00 per ticket), disclosed at checkout. See /pricing for subscription tiers (Plus $9.99/mo, Concierge Pro $19.99/mo, Founders Pass $49 one-time).
For hosts: 3% take-rate on ticket sales, paid via Stripe Connect. Optional add-ons (boost, analytics, vendor packages) priced separately.
For vendors: 7% take-rate on jobs that flow through Flock's payment rails.
5. Money handling
Stripe is our payment processor. We never see your card details. Refunds processed within 3-7 business days. Disputed charges follow Stripe's dispute resolution process. We retain payment records for 7 years per applicable law.
6. Content you post
You retain ownership of content you post (event descriptions, photos, reviews). You grant Flock a worldwide, royalty-free license to display + distribute it on our platform. We can remove content that violates the AUP. Per AUP, repeat violators face account termination.
7. AI features
Flock uses Anthropic's Claude model for AI concierge, refund-saver, recommendations, and content moderation. AI outputs may include errors. We surface confidence + source citations where applicable. Every AI recommendation is overridable. See /about/ai for model cards (per EXECUTION-BIBLE §15.61).
8. Account termination
You can delete your account at any time via /account/delete. We'll delete personal data within 30 days, with exceptions for legal/financial records (7-year retention). We reserve the right to terminate accounts for AUP violations, fraud, or illegal activity.
9. Disclaimers
Flock is a platform — we don't organize most events ourselves. Hosts are responsible for their events. Venues are responsible for their premises. We don't guarantee that an event will happen, that a host will deliver, or that other attendees will be safe. Use common sense. Report issues to trust@flock.city.
10. Limitation of liability
To the maximum extent allowed by law, Flock's liability is capped at fees you paid us in the 12 months prior to the claim. We are not liable for indirect, consequential, or punitive damages. Some jurisdictions don't allow this limitation — in those cases, your rights are whatever the law gives you.
11. Governing law
These Terms are governed by New York law. Disputes are resolved by binding arbitration in NYC, except small-claims court is permitted. You waive class-action rights, but you retain individual claims.
12. Changes
We update these Terms occasionally. Material changes (new monetization, new data category, new dispute process) trigger 30-day email notice + a banner on Flock. Continued use after that constitutes acceptance.
