The Story

**Health Goals In Real Life** ***Note: During the meeting we ask that cameras are on to provide a safe and confident environment.*** From our guest speaker: Shannon - Fitness Coach and Building Health Routines that Fit REAL Lives | October has a way of changing the rhythm of life. The days get shorter. The air gets cooler. Schedules fill up. Halloween is around the corner, Thanksgiving isn’t far behind, and suddenly we’re looking at the final stretch of the year. This is also the time when healthy routines can quietly start slipping. A walk gets skipped because it’s cold outside. A busy afternoon turns into grabbing whatever is convenient. Halloween candy shows up everywhere. Holiday plans start competing with workouts, sleep and the routines that felt easier during summer. And somewhere along the way, it becomes tempting to say... “I’ll get back to it after the holidays.” But wellness doesn’t need to disappear for the next three months. It may need to look a little different. DON’T WAIT FOR JANUARY. There are still nearly three months left in the year. That’s a lot of meals, a lot of opportunities to move, a lot of nights to prioritize rest and a lot of small choices that can add up. The goal isn’t to make October through December perfect. It’s to stay connected to the habits that help you feel good while still enjoying the season. REAL movement REAL nutrition REAL rest That can work in October, too. Halloween can be the beginning of the “holiday food season,” but one night, one party or a few pieces of candy don’t undo your wellness. Rather than approaching Halloween with restriction, think about creating balance around it. Eat your normal meals instead of skipping food to “save calories” for later. Build those meals around foods that provide protein, fiber and nutrients so you aren’t walking into a bowl of Halloween candy overly hungry. If you want the candy, choose the pieces you actually enjoy. Sit down. Eat them. Enjoy them. Then move on with you
