The Story

Plenty of people have something others would happily pay to spend an evening on — a walk they could lead, a dish they cook well, a craft, a workshop full of gear, a corner of the city they know inside out. Most never do anything with it, usually because it is not obvious how you would even start. This session is about starting, and about what the money side realistically looks like. We go through it together, over about ninety minutes: * what people actually pay for * setting a price, and when free is the smarter first move * how you get your first handful of people to turn up * what happens on the day, and how to make it good You leave with a plan for one specific thing you could run, and a room of people you can ask when you get stuck. It is a conversation rather than a lecture. You will be asked what you are thinking of running, and people who already do this will be there to answer questions — including the ones that feel too basic to ask. About us: we are Detor (godetor.com), a startup opening in six European cities, with more of the EU to follow. We are building our community of hosts now, ahead of launch — which is a good moment to get in early. We would genuinely love you to run things with us, and we will show you exactly how that works if you want to know. You are just as welcome if you would rather start something entirely on your own. Come for the room, the advice and the people — we will help you get your first one off the ground either way, and that offer does not come with strings. Every second Wednesday at 7pm, online, so wherever you are is fine. Free, and there is nothing to buy. No promises about what you will earn — that depends entirely on what you run and how often. What we can promise is a straight answer to every question you bring.
