🎶 Next up for the DIA'S Concert Series: **Marcus Elliot &** **Coltrane 100: Marcus Elliot Africa/Brass**🎶 ⏰ 7:00 PM \| Friday\, September 25th 📍DIA's Rivera Court 🎟 \**FREE Admission for Residents of Wayne, Oakland and Macomb Counties with ID.* Marcus Elliot: saxophonist, composer, improviser, and educator has emerged as one of the leading voices in Detroit’s music scene The New York Times called him "convincing and confident", the Detroit Free Press "next generation of jazz". **Friday Night Live!** In celebration of the centennial of John Coltrane, saxophonist Marcus Elliot presents a reimagining of one of Coltrane’s most visionary works, Africa/Brass. Featuring newly commissioned arrangements by Detroit-based trumpeter, composer, arranger, film composer, and educator Kris Johnson, this project reinterprets selections from the landmark Africa/Brass album through the lens of contemporary improvisation and orchestration. Performed by a ten piece Orchestra. As there is NO reserved seating and I expect this will be very popular **please ARRIVE EARLY to get your seat**. Drinks will be available for purchase just outside of Rivera and can be taken to your seats. An overflow area is usually available outside court.
