The Story

Making new friends as an adult can be surprisingly difficult. We’re trying to make it easier and a lot more fun! Vancouver WA Speed Friending is a social group for adults who want to meet new people, have fun conversations, and build new friendships around Vancouver. Think speed dating, except there’s no dating. You’ll have a series of short, relaxed conversations with different people, with (often wacky) questions or conversation starters to keep things lively and fun. Afterward, there’s time to hang out, have a drink or a bite to eat, and continue talking with people you connected with. We’ll hold events at local pubs and other casual venues around Vancouver. Come by yourself (if you like). In fact, that’s exactly what this is designed for! You don’t need to be especially outgoing, and you don’t need to already know anyone. If you prefer, bring a friend or spouse! We love having couples and friends groups here too! The goal is simple: get people off their phones, talking face-to-face, laughing, and hopefully leaving with a few new people they’d genuinely like to see again. This is a friendship and social group—not a dating group. Drinking is never the point, and alcohol is completely optional. Because many events will be held at pubs, some individual events may be limited to ages 21+. This group is geared toward adults. Any participants under the age of 18 would have to be accompanied by a parent or guardian, and would have to join us on an occasion when the venue allows minors. If you’re new to Vancouver, your friends have gotten busy, you work from home, you’d like a bigger social circle, or you just think meeting some new people sounds fun, come join us! Strangers when you arrive. Hopefully not when you leave!
